Anita Vizzini Design - The AVD Design Process

INTRODUCTORY CONSULTATION

After the Discovery Call, our process continues with an Introductory Consultation where we take a deep dive into your project and discuss your design vision, lifestyle, and your overall needs and wishes for your home. We will review any material you have prepared to date, such as magazine or online images that appeal to your taste, architectural or sketched drawings you may have, and essentially your wish list for the space.

We will also work with you to review and help you finalize your budget, and provide you with a clear understanding of what to expect. A detailed proposal describing our process and the design fees associated with each phase of the project will be prepared and presented to you after this initial meeting.

DESIGN PLANNING

Once we’ve decided to work together, the Design Process truly begins!

During this phase, we will hold an in-person meeting where we delineate the structure that the design will take, by using your collection of ideas presented in the initial consultation and assessing your existing furnishings, artwork, and any other important possessions you would like to incorporate in your new space.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCT SOURCING

During this phase the design concept is created to incorporate the following key elements:

Space planning and furniture layouts are strategically prepared to maximize flow and functionality of each space.
Colour palettes are curated for each space, incorporating paint, fabrics and wallcoverings to create a beautiful, cohesive design scheme. Custom cabinetry and millwork is designed to complement the existing architecture of the home.
Sourcing of the following elements is performed: plumbing fixtures, hardware, appliances, lighting fixtures, custom window treatments, rugs, custom furnishings, and all finishes and materials.

DESIGN PRESENTATION AND PRODUCT SELECTION

During this exciting phase, we will hold an in-person meeting where you will:

Be presented with a curated design scheme with accompanying floor plans and renderings so you can visualize your new space.
Have the opportunity to feel fabric samples alongside images of furnishings, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and any of the products featured in the design.
Select your preferred products and materials to finalize the design concept.

DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION AND INSTALLATION

During this stage, the design concept starts coming to life and the following steps will be taken:

Management of all aspects of the project.
Product ordering, receiving, inspection and storage until space is ready for installation.
Consistent communication with vendors and custom items workrooms.
Scheduling, co-ordination, site visits, and full collaboration with trades to ensure a smooth and seamless process.
Complete installation of all furnishings and accessories to elevate your space to Magazine-Worthy status!
